Trading Card Condition Guide
Grailworks Trading Co. evaluates raw trading cards using the condition categories below. Condition assessments are intended to give buyers a consistent overview of a card’s overall appearance and wear.
NM | Near Mint
A clean card with minimal signs of handling or wear. Minor imperfections may be present. Near Mint does not mean flawless or guaranteed to receive a particular grade from a grading company.
LP | Lightly Played
Shows minor visible wear such as light edge or corner whitening, minor surface marks, or other small imperfections while remaining generally clean and presentable.
MP | Moderately Played
Shows more noticeable wear, which may include whitening, scratches, surface wear, minor indentations, or other imperfections visible during normal inspection.
HP | Heavily Played
Shows significant wear or multiple condition issues. This may include substantial whitening, scratching, creasing, indentations, or other pronounced defects.
DMG | Damaged
Has major condition issues such as significant creasing, bends, tears, water damage, severe surface damage, writing, peeling, or similar defects.
Graded Cards
Graded cards are sold according to the grade assigned by the grading company shown on the listing. Buyers should review photographs for the physical condition of the slab, label, and holder.
Sealed Products
Sealed-product listings will identify meaningful packaging damage or imperfections when present. Buyers should review all listing photographs carefully, particularly when purchasing sealed products for display or long-term collecting.
Please review the photos
Every collectible is unique. Photographs are an important part of the listing and should be reviewed alongside the stated condition before purchasing.
